Mn-Salen Catalyzed Asymmetric Epoxidation of 1,3-Cycloalkadienes and Dialkylsubstituted Z-Olefins

Epoxidation of 1,3-cycloalkadienes with Mn-salen catalyst 1 at the reduced temperature (-18 °C) was found to show high enantioselectivity ranging from 82-94% ee. Epoxidation of (Z)-1-cyclohexyl-1-propene was also found to proceed with good enantioselectivity of 82% ee.
