Hydrolytically stable N 1-glycosyl triazoles formed from glycosyl azides as anomerically protected precursors are used as the glycosyl donors in the synthesis of steroid glycosides, phenyl glycosides, glycosyl amino acid derivatives and disaccharides after activation with trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate.
