Significance
Conditions have been developed for the palladium-catalyzed C-N cross-coupling in a continuous-flow fashion, using microreactors packed with stainless steel spheres (packed-bed reactors). The reaction proceeds in a biphasic reaction medium (KOH-toluene) in the presence of palladium-phosphine catalyst systems and tetra-butylammonium bromide as a phase-transfer catalyst.
