Background

Sulfa-derivatives have been associated with acute transient myopia, angle closure glaucoma (ACG), and ciliochoroidal effusion syndrome (CCES) but not with pigment epithelial detachment (PED) or serous retinal detachment (SRD) [1], [2], [3], [4]. We report a case with features of CCES as well as a peripheral serous PED (SPED) and SRD which developed while taking hydrochlorothiazide, a sulfa-derivative.
