Graphical Abstract

Abstract

Recent research has demonstrated a novel copper-catalyzed method for formal aldehydic C–H borylation utilizing a new sp2–sp3 diboron reagent, LBH2-Bpin. This approach provides a streamlined route to a wide range of acylboranes, which are valuable intermediates in medicinal chemistry. This Synpact article reviews the traditional synthetic methods of acylboranes and the uniqueness of this aldehydic C–H borylation protocol.
