Eine längsschnittliche Betrachtung des integrierten Gesten-Lautsprach-Systems in verschiedenen Diskurspraktiken

Eine Analyse von Längsschnittdaten einer Stichprobe von 4-Jährigen ergibt, dass Kinder ihre Ausführungen in Erklärungen, in verschiedenen Genres, mit fortschreitendem Alter mit weniger Gesten begleiten. Die Auswertungsmethode orientiert sich dabei an den durch die Kinder verbalisierten Ereignisaspekten. Bei einem einzelnen Kind mit unterdurchschnittlichen Sprachwerten nähert sich der Inhalt seiner Ausführungen dem anderer Kinder mit dem Alter an.

Abstract

In this paper, the integrated gesture-speech system is investigated with longitudinal data from a small sample of 4-year-olds across different communicative genres. A new analysis method is tested that considers the event aspects verbalized by children. The analysis shows that with age, children accompany aspects of explanations less with their iconic gestures. Another analysis was concerned with a child scoring below-average in all language measures. With age, the richness of the child’s event aspects approaches the performance of other children.
