Significance

Inhibitors of lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1) are potential drugs for the treatment of inflammatory and immune disorders. The concise and robust five-stage process depicted delivered the target LFA-1 inhibitor on a one metric ton scale in 53% overall yield.
