Significance

This article reports an efficient method for the nickel-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling of unactivated secondary alkyl chlorides. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions at ambient temperature. The catalyst components are commercially available and inexpensive. The coupling proved to be general, and could thus be applied to a broad range of unactivated secondary alkyl chlorides.
