Significance

In view that organoboron compounds play vital roles in modern organic synthesis, the development of efficient and versatile synthetic methods for boryl-containing compounds is highly significant. Herein, the Diels-Alder reaction of trans-borylalkenes with ortho-quinodimethane generated in situ to give boryltetralins is described. Moreover, successful transformation of the tetralins into borylnaphthalenes via an oxidative aromatization is disclosed.
