Abstract

First examples of a facile hydroselenophosphorylation of aldehydes are reported. Nucleophilic addition of P,Se-ambident secondary phosphane selenides to a series of aldehydes proceeds under catalyst-free conditions at room temperature to give tertiary α-hydroxyphosphane selenides in high yield.
