Abstract

Starting from paramagnetic benzaldehyde, a benzophenone-type photoactivable spin label, paramagnetic warfarin and phenindione were synthesized. Nitration of protected benzylic alcohol led to 2-nitrobenzylmethanethiosulfonate, a thiol specific spin label, and 2-nitroaldehyde, which was a key compound for paramagnetic indigo, salicylic acid and nifedipine.
