Synthesis of Ferrocenylethynyl Ketones by Coupling of Ferrocenylethyne with Acyl Chlorides

Abstract

Some new ethynyl ketones containing ferrocenyl moieties were prepared conveniently by coupling ferrocenylethyne with acyl chlorides in the presence of a catalytic amount of PdCl2(PPh3)2/PdBzCl(PPh3)2-CuI. This coupling reaction proceeded smoothly in a dry argon atmosphere at room temperature and gave coupling products in satisfactory yields.
