Bewegung im Alter: The trick is to die young, but as late as possible

Zusammenfassung
Regelmäßige Bewegung ist und bleibt mit hoher Evidenz das Fundament erfolgreichen Alterns, denn sie beugt Krankheiten vor, reduziert Mortalität, erhält die funktionelle Mobilität/Selbstständigkeit und stabilisiert die psychische Gesundheit sowie das soziale Wohlbefinden. Ältere Menschen sollten daher für mehr Lebensqualität im Alltag jede Gelegenheit nützen, körperlich aktiv zu sein, insbesondere wenn sie den internationalen Bewegungsempfehlungen mit Ausdauer-, Kraft-, Koordinations- und Flexibilitätskomponenten nicht nachkommen können. Die Regel „Wenig sitzen – oft aufstehen“ gilt vom Kindes- bis zum Greisenalter!
