Summary

Gehirn und Darm interagieren eng und wechselseitig miteinander, hierbei haben sich die Begriffe Gehirn-Darm-Achse, aber auch Darm-Gehirn-Achse durchgesetzt. Im Artikel werden entsprechende Veränderungen dieser Achse am Beispiel des Reizdarmsyndroms diskutiert. Abschließend werden therapeutische Ansätze, die die Darm-Gehirn-Achse beeinflussen, vorgestellt.
