Stereoselective γ-Olefination of Substituted Cyclobutenediones by Organocatalysis

Abstract

Methods are described for the stereoselective synthesis of alkenyl-substituted cyclobutenediones from alkyl-substituted cyclobutenediones and aldehydes in 70-91% yields using pyrrolidine as catalyst under mild reaction conditions.
