Significance
Inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase prevents the formation of various leukotriene pro-inflammatory mediators and hence provides a potential means for the treatment of asthma, atherosclerosis, and pain. PF-014191834 is a potent and selective inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase.
