Endoskopie bei geriatrischen Patienten: Positionspapier der Arbeitsgruppe Geriatrische Gastroenterologie

Zusammenfassung

Der Stellenwert endoskopisch diagnostischer und therapeutischer Eingriffe steigt beständig. Spezifische Eigenarten bei der Behandlung geriatrischer Patienten wurden bisher allenfalls Ansatzweise berücksichtigt. Die vorliegende Zusammenfassung zeigt den derzeitigen Stand beispielhaft auf und gibt Hinweise für Fragestellungen, die in Studien begleitet von der Arbeitsgruppe Geriatrische Gastroenterologie geklärt werden sollen.

Abstract

The relevance of endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic interventions is on a constant rise. However, specific aspects of the treatment of geriatric patients have only been tackled to a rather limited extent so far. The present contribution pinpoints illustratively the status quo on this issue and provides directions for further research which should be conducted in future studies supported by the working group on geriatric gastroenterology.
