We regret that we must withdraw this paper. Despite several attempts with different students, we are unable to repeat the experiments reported in this paper for the conversion of dienones to a Nazarov product using PEDOT. We have been unable to reproduce the experiments that heated dienones with PEDOT, despite using different batches of both electrochemically polymerized PEDOT and ferric chloride polymerized PEDOT. We observed decomposition of the dienone or no reaction. In no instance we did observe the Nazarov product (Michael B. Smith, August 2012).
