Abstract

A practical and efficient approach to the regioselective synthesis of per(6-bromo-6-deoxy)cyclodextrins is described. The method utilizes the easily accessible (chloro(phenylthio)methylene)dimethylammonium chloride (CPMA), circumventing disadvantages of earlier protocols.
