Abstract

Triazinoquinazolinone derivatives are synthesized by cyclization of aminobenzamide-substituted triazine compounds in the presence of a proton source such as trifluoroacetic acid or hydrochloric acid. The reaction is mild, general, and gives high yield (>90%) of the cyclized product. This procedure allows, for the first time, access to triazinoquinazolinone compounds bearing different functionalities on the benzene and triazine moieties that are not available by other routes.
