Significance

The synthesis of xylylene-bridged calix[6]arenes functionalized in the 5-position of the spacer and in the upper rim with amino or ­amino-precursor groups is described. The cone conformation of the bridged calixarenes has been demonstrated by ROESY and 1D ¹H or ¹³C NMR spectroscopy techniques.
