Significance

A silica-supported compact monophoshine iridium complex (silica-SMAP-Ir) catalyzed the directed ortho-borylation of phenol derivatives protected with an N,N-diethylcarbamoyl group to give the corresponding ortho-borylated products in 41-91% yield (19 examples).
