Significance
(+)-Peloruside was isolated from a marine sponge and was found to act as a microtubule stabilizer. This synthesis was published back-to-back with a paper from Jacobsen and co-workers (see Synfacts 2010, 1330). The above synthesis of (+)-peloruside A utilizes substrate-controlled diastereoselective transformations and a relay ring-closing metathesis.
