A purely organic 3D molecular prism (3) is synthesized via Suzuki coupling, reductive hydrogenation, imine formation, and finally a hydride reduction in good overall yield. The condensation between the triamine 1 and dialdehyde 2 proceeds under thermodynamic control favoring the shape-persistent trigonal prism 3.
