Cloacal Dysgenesis Sequence in a Set of Twins: New Insights Into Embryology and a Review of the Literature
Publication History
Publication Date:
24 June 2010 (online)

Introduction
To date, only a few cases with complex congenital anomaly including urethral atresia and anorectal atresia have been published. However, our case is the only known case of cloacal dysgenesis sequence affecting twins, which suggests a genetic etiology of this rare disorder. The importance of this case is the occurrence of the same sequence of abnormalities in twins, suggestive of Mendelian inheritance.
