Here we report a 22-year-old man with schizophrenia who developed nasal bleeding with the fluoxetine and risperidone combination. Nasal bleeding was not observed with either fluoxetine or risperidone alone. A variety of mechanisms might explain this bleeding side effect of the fluoxetine and risperidone combination. Our experience highlights that more attention needs to be paid to this combination, especially in susceptible patients.
