Significance

In this report, a C 2-symmetric bis-sulfoxide ligand was prepared and utilized in the rhodium-catalyzed 1,4-addition of arylboronic acids to α,β-unsaturated compounds. This reaction system could also be used in the 1,4-addition of sodium tetraarylborates to electron-rich chromen­ones.
