Significance

(+)-Crocacin C was isolated from Chondromyces crocatus and Chondromyces ­pediulatus in 1994 and displays moderate anti­fungal, antibacterial, and cytotoxic activities. The total synthesis is achieved here in an impressive 22.3% overall yield.
