Significance
A novel full-color-tunable fluorophore, 1,2-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-β]indolizin-3-one is reported, which was synthesized via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and oxidative aromatization. The emission maxima can be tuned by using different substitution groups. The bioapplications of some of these fluorophores were demonstrated by immunofluorescence.
