Abstract

An I2-DMSO-mediated, one-pot synthesis of benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine-2,3-diylbis(phenylmethyl ketone) derivatives have been developed using 2-aminobenzimidazole, acetophenone, and enaminone as starting materials. The structures of the compounds were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
