Two hybrid steroids dimers bearing the trioxadiespiroketal moiety were obtained starting
from cholesterol and diosgenin. The key steps of the designed protocol are the Cadiot–Chodkiewicz
cross coupling between iodoalkynols and alkynols and the Au-catalyzed dispiroketalization
of hybrid dialkyndiols.
