Abstract
In the triadic counseling concept, counseling and therapeutic processes are harmoniously
and dynamically linked. The basis is formed by all those situations in which the therapist,
the child and his caregiver meet in a “natural” way, namely when greeting and saying
goodbye as well as in the context of separation processes. The transitions are deliberately
designed by addressing the common as well as the individual and separating. The separation
is seen as an opportunity for the caregiver to see their child in a different way
through the eyes of the therapist – as well as an opportunity for the child to use
language to represent the presence of the third party and thus make it tangible. Against
this background, speech therapy finally takes on a whole new meaning: to discover
language as a perspective, to endure and bridge separations – being alone, in loneliness,
for example with regard to (often) absent fathers. The focus of the triadic counseling
concept is always the attitude of evaluating the different behaviors of caregivers
and therapists not as a risk but as an opportunity.
