Solvent-Free Synthesis of Bis(2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridin-4′-yl)amine and Its Metal Complexes

Abstract

The key compound bis(2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridin-4′-yl)amine was prepared in one step starting from 4′-amino-2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine and 4′-bromo-2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine in quantitative yield. In addition, we have established an easy and efficient route for the synthesis of the bromoterpyridine compound. Using the novel ligand, two ruthenium complexes were also prepared.
