Blei-Intoxikation durch Schnupftabak

Zusammenfassung

Bei einem 66jährigen Patienten wurde eine klinisch manifeste Bleivergiftung festgestellt, deren Ursache zunächst unklar blieb. Bei der Suche nach Vergiftungsquellen ergab sich überraschenderweise, daß der Patient mehrere Jahre lang blei-kontaminierten Schnupftabak inhaliert hatte. Zwei Jahre nach Elimination der Vergiftungsquelle fühlte sich der Patient beschwerdefrei, die pathologischen Laboratoriumsbefunde hatten sich bis auf eine leichte Vermehrung der Erythrozyten-Protoporphyrine normalisiert.

Abstract

Clinically manifest lead poisoning was diagnosed in a 66-year-old patient, the cause of which remained unclear at first. In the search for the source of poison it was surprisingly discovered that the patient had been inhaling lead contaminated snuff for several years. Two years after elimination of the source the patient was symptom-free, pathological laboratory findings had become normal except for a slight increase of erythrocyte protoporphyrins.
