Posterior Hypospadias: The French Operation

Abstract

We describe a new technique for complete repair of severe posterior hypospadias in one stage.

The operative technique includes some innovative points: penile straightening is realized by urethral mobilization to excise the chordee, and then urethroplasty according to Duplay procedure and glanduloplasty are performed.

We report our results in 34 patients. Preservation of urethral plate in hypospadias repair is a principle with significant implications to an extended variety of hypospadias.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird eine neue Technik zur einseitigen Rekonstruktion der Harnröhre bei schweren posterioren Hypospadien vorgestellt. Die Technik umfaßt folgende Maßnahmen: Schaftaufrichtung mit Urethramobilisation und Exzision der Chorda, Urethroplastie nach Duplay und Glanuloplastik. Insgesamt werden 34 Patienten vorgestellt. Die Erhaltung der Urethralplatte ist bei der Behandlung von Hypospadien von besonderer Bedeutung. Sie ist auch in der Behandlung anderer Hypospadieformen von Wichtigkeit.
