Abstract
Fibroepithelial polyps are extremely rare benign mesodermal tumours in children that
can cause ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction. We report on a 10-year-old boy
presenting with UPJ obstruction due to a fibroepithelial polyp, and review 28 similar
published paediatric cases.

Les polypes fibro-épithéliaux sont des tumeurs mésodermiques extrêmement rares chez
l'enfant qui peuvent causer une obstruction de la jonction pyélo-urétérale (UPJ).
Nous rapportons le cas d'un enfant de 10 ans se présentant avec une obstruction de
la jonction pyélo-urétérale, due à un polype fibro-épithélial et revoyons 28 cas publiés
dans la littérature pédiatrique.

presentación de un caso y revisión
Los pólipos fibroepiteliales son tumores mesodérmicos benignos muy raros en niños
que pueden causar obstrucción de la unión pieloureteral. Presentamos un caso de un
niño de 10 años con obstrucción pieloureteral debida un pólipo fibroepitelial y revisamos
28 casos similares publicados en la literatura.

und Übersicht
Fibroepitheliale Polypen sind extrem seltene benigne Tumoren im Kindesalter, die jedoch
eine Ureterabgangsstenose verursachen können. Wir stellen einen 10 Jahre alten Knaben
mit einer Obstruktion am ureteropelvinen Übergang infolge eines solchen Polypen vor.
Ein Überblick über 28 gleichlautende Publikationen wird gegeben.
