Four non-symmetric tetraoxaquaterenes (5, 6, 8, and 9) and two cyclic hexamers 11 and 13 were efficiently prepared via the condensation reaction of furyl precursors 3 and 4 with various ketones, catalysed by 90.5% sulfuric acid.
