Abstract

The aim of this experimental study was to verify the biocompatibility of a new bone glue in a fracture model in rabbits. The fracture healing after the glue application and osseointegration were to be analyzed through histological and radiological invastigations. 36 rabbits were operated unifemoral and observed over a period of 7, 21, 42 and 84 days. The bone glue in its characteristics, has a good biocompatibility without any inflammatory tissue reaction and a good absorption. A regular fracture healing after adequate reduction can be observed, without being a barrier for cellular migration and osteogenesis.
