A solid-phase synthesis of polysubstituted tetrahydrochromano[4,3-b]quinolines is described. These compounds are prepared by the reaction of immobilized anilines with the derivatives of salicylic aldehyde containing an electron-rich olefin substituent. This reaction is catalyzed by both 1%TFA and Yb(OTf)3. The targeted products are isolated as 1 : 1 mixtures of diastereomers.
