A series of polymer-bound imidazolium chlorochromates have been synthesised and used as selective oxidants for benzylic and cinnamylic alcohols. Solid-support-bound 1-aminoimidazolium chlorochromate proved to be the most convenient system due to its efficiency, selectivity and ease of recycling the material.
