The reaction of pyrazole and triazole-derived dinucleophiles with oxalic acid-bis(imidoyl)chlorides afforded the novel pyrazo[2,1-b]imidazolidines and imidazo[2,1-c]triazoles, respectively. The use of 3-aminoisoxazoles resulted in a domino reaction leading to biologically relevant 1,4-dihydro-imidazo[4,5-b]quinoxalines
