Fused-norbornene blocks, formed by the condensation of porphyrin vic-diamines with polyalicyclic α-diones, have been used to produce mono-porphyrin systems linked to other effector units or new U-type cavity bis-porphyrins using ACE or s-tetrazine coupling protocols.
