The synthesis of novel ferrocenyloxazolines incorporating secondary ester, bromo and hydroxy functionalities either on the oxazoline unit or the other cyclopentadiene ring of the ferrocene core has been achieved. The X-ray structure of a homochiral ferrocenyloxazoline derivative 11 incorporating a tertiary alcohol side chain appended to the oxazoline ring is reported.
