Borane complexes of several trialkyl-type C 2-symmetric diphosphines bearing two chiral phospholanes were prepared by the reaction employing a lithium salt of a (2S,5S)-2,5-dimethylphospholane-borane complex which was formed in situ from a borane complex of (2S,5S)-2,5-dimethyl-1-phenylphospholane.
