The asymmetric catalytic hydrosilylation of prochiral ketones with HSi(OEt)3 using (R)-BINOL-Ti(O-i-Pr)2 as a precatalyst is shown to proceed in excellent yields. Although the observed levels of enantioselectivity were moderate (up to 55% ee), an interesting phenomenon of ”enantioselective autoinduction” was observed.
