The preparation of each of the novel, functionalized allylcopper(I) reagents 2 and 3 is described. Reaction of these reagents with a series of cyclic α,β-unsaturated ketones produces good to excellent yields of the corresponding 3-(2-(trimethylgermyl)allyl)- and 3-(2-(trimethylstannyl)allyl)cycloalkanones, respectively.
