Fischer-type amine-carbene complexes of 1,6-methano[16]annulenes 4a-e were prepared in high yields by the aminolyses of 1,6-methano[10]annulenyl substituted alkoxy-carbene complexes 1 with various amines 2a-e. The benzylamino complex 4c was selectively transformed into the benzylamide 5 by oxidation or to the acylamino chelate carbene complex 6 by acylation catalyzed by dimethylaminopyridine.
