The reaction of allenic sulfinates with vinyl magnesium bromide affords the title sulfines which, upon standing, dimerize to the corresponding substituted 1,2-dithietane-1,1-dioxides 4. Treatment of trans 4 with lithium cyanide in THF leads smoothly to the corresponding (Z)-alkenes.
