Lithium tris [(3-tert-butyl-3-pentyl)oxy] aluminum hydride, a highly hindered lithium trialkoxyaluminum hydride was synthesized. Quantitative and highly stereoselective reduction of various cyclic, bicyclic and open-chain Cram type ketones was achieved by use of this reagent.
