The synthesis of electron deficient dienes has been accomplished by the palladium catalyzed coupling of β-stannyl-α,β-unsaturated esters with β-trifluoro-methanesulfonyl-α,β-unsaturated esters and ketones and is efficient only in tetrahydrofuran and a palladium to phosphine ratio of 1:2.
